A Message From Our Director

Hello, my name is Jaqueline Duffy, and I’m the Director of Six Acres Nursery School.  It has been my pleasure to serve in this position since 2012, and to have been involved in early childhood development since 1983.

I am very proud of our programs, our staff, and every child that comes through our doors.   Six Acres is a very special place, and I personally welcome you to contact me at any time with questions, feedback, or just to say hi.  We are one big happy family here at Six Acres Nursery School, and if you aren’t yet part of it, we invite you to join us.

Until I hear from you, here are a couple answers to common questions.

What makes Six Acres Nursery school so special?

I get this question all of the time – so here’s the answer:

  1. Low teacher turnover – Our teachers are committed to our school and stay for a long time. Most of our teachers have been here 20 plus years!
  2. Small classrooms – we have 7 classrooms with only 10 children in each which leads into our next reason:
  3. Each child is treated as an individual. This is possible because of our small classroom size.
  4. Constant assessment – Assessment of the child guides our curriculum.
  5. Light classrooms – all of our rooms have large windows for plenty of light!

What is a Typical Day at Six Acres Like?

This is what a typical day looks like:

Arrival – children come in and get involved in an activity.

Circle Time – This is when the children gather to talk about what is planned for the day and talk about the weather and calendar.

Snack Time – Our children love the healthy snacks we serve – veggies & dip, bagels & cream cheese, veggie stix to name a few.

Activity Room – This is our time for gross motor fun!!

Lunch time – You supply lunch.

Music & Literacy Time – Songs & books!!

Dismissal – Time to go home with a Daily Sheet that lets you know what we did for the day!!

Come see for yourself what makes us special! Call or email for a tour! Enrolling now for September !
